  •  QTL Experiment in Brief
Animals:The data set consisted of 2,762 Holstein calves, 1,323 Angus,85 Red Angus, 66 Hereford, 118 Charolais, and 408 crossbred beef cattle.
     Breeds associated:
Design:Animals were genotyped using the BovineHD BeadChip and suceptibility to bovine respiratory disease. A marker was selected as a proxy for each gene within the bovine genome. The final analysis included markers as proxies for 19,723 genes within 3,147 gene sets.
Analysis:Gene-set enrhciment anlaysis utilitzing SNP data was used. Dairy and beef cattle were analyzed seperately. Individual dairy populations (California and New Mexico) were analyzed both sperately and jointly, while individual beef populations (Colorado and Washington) were analyzed seperately.
Software:Golden Helix SNP and Variation Suite (SVS), R - GenAbel
Notes:This study used some data that were previously analyzed (PMID 25534905).
