QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Animals were purebred Charolais and Limousin beef cows. |
Breeds associated:
|
Design: | Animals were genotyped using the custom International Dairy and Beef SNP chip and analyzed for six production traits. A total of 15,144 SNPs and 15,137 SNPs were used for analysis in Limousin and Charolais cows, respectively. |
Analysis: | Single-SNP GWAS were carried out for each breed separately using a linear mixed model. A meta-analysis was conducted across the two breeds using a weighted Z-score method. |
Software: | GCTA, METAL |
