QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | The data set consisted of 781 primiparious Holstein cows |
Breeds associated:
|
Design: | Animals were genotyped using the BovineHD BeadChip (777,962 SNPs) to identify QTL and leading edge genes associated with 305-day milk yield (kg). Data was collected on healthy animals from six dairies from central Washington. Dairy and energy corrected milk were used as covariates in the analysis. |
Analysis: | A genome-wide association analysis (GWAA) identified QTL and a gene set enrichment analysis with SNP data (GSEA-SNP) identified gene sets and leading edge genes influencing 305-day milk yield. |
Software: | Golden Helix SNP and Variation Suite (SVS), R - GenAbel |
